YES — you should eat before acupuncture, but keep it light.

Why does eating beforehand help?

  • Prevents lightheadedness
  • Stabilizes blood sugar
  • Helps you relax
  • Reduces chances of feeling faint

What should I eat?
Have a small meal or snack 1–2 hours before your appointment:

  • Eggs, toast, oatmeal
  • Yogurt with nuts or fruit
  • A smoothie
  • Soup or light protein + carbs

What should I avoid?

  • Coming on an empty stomach
  • Heavy, greasy meals
  • Excess caffeine or alcohol

Great question — acupuncture is generally not painful.

Most people feel little to no discomfort during needle insertion. Acupuncture needles are very thin, much thinner than those used for injections.

What you might feel:

  • A quick, mild pinch
  • A dull ache, warmth, or tingling (normal therapeutic sensation)
  • Deep relaxation during treatment

Some areas may be more sensitive, but discomfort is usually brief and mild. Many find the experience comfortable and calming. If you’re nervous about needles, communicate with your practitioner for adjustments.

We provide acupuncture to support pain relief, injury recovery, and whole-body wellness. Acupuncture enhances circulation, reduces inflammation, calms the nervous system, and activates the body’s natural healing response.
